I was born in Texas, Goodfellow AFB to be exact. My parents were both military and we moved A LOT! When I was 3 we went to Taiwan. Then we moved to Georgia when I was 7. Onward we went to Florida when I was 11 then to California to wait for my Dad to get back from Vietnam….. From California we were shipped out to Kincheloe AFB way up north on the Canadian border (so cold and so much snow!) We headed to Kansas to McConnell AFB and last we transferred to Tucson AZ at Davis Monthan AFB. Although I really disliked my childhood, I can see the benefits of being a military child now. We were exposed to so many different cultures and ways of life. It has made me a more open minded person and I love to be around new people and new situations. It has led me towards a career in medicine and I’ve been an RN now for 30 years.
